Energy Certification

·

Norway

By adopting Autility, Coop Nord and Energihuset revolutionized their energy certification process. Together, they extracted up to 95% of critical building data remotely, eliminating the need for costly, time-consuming site visits.

One data collection – efficient energy certification and better operations

As a major property owner, Coop Nord must energy certify all commercial buildings over 1,000 m² of heated usable floor area, with certifications renewed on a regular basis. With 59 stores and several shopping centres, maintaining data quality and an efficient process is essential.

By testing digital surveys with Energihuset, Coop Nord demonstrated how building data can be collected once, stored in Autility, and reused both for certification and daily operations — reducing duplicate work and keeping every stakeholder on the same, up-to-date data.

“Autility made the survey process highly efficient. I registered assets, photos and required measurements directly in the twin, and the AI analysis ensured the data quality Energihuset needs.”

Bjarne Davidsen, Coop Nord

Instead of sending an assessor from Energihuset to each store, dedicated Coop Nord employees carried out the on-site surveys against checklists from Energihuset, who then ran the digital survey directly in Coop Nord’s Autility twin — extracting 90–95% of all required information. Only a few details, like whether outdoor heating cables were installed, needed a phone call to confirm.

The benefits of digital energy certification

Improved data quality

Every survey is stored directly in Autility, giving Coop Nord full visibility of deviations, service reports, photos and file classification long after certification is complete.

Shared access to data

Used across the entire portfolio, everyone involved — internally and externally — works from the same up-to-date data, reducing misunderstandings and improving workflow.

Greater efficiency and lower costs

Digital surveys let Energihuset run certification without physical site visits, saving time, cutting travel, and making the whole process more predictable.

Reuse of data in operation

Once collected, data feeds daily building management — from handling deviations to planned maintenance — for a more holistic, data-driven approach to property.

“Our intention is that all data should be actively used in daily operations — from deviations and service reports to photos and file classification. This gives us better oversight, higher quality in follow-up, and a more efficient working day.”

Bente Hoseth, Head of Property Management, Coop Nord

Digital energy certification becomes standard at Coop Nord

Coop Nord plans to certify at least six new buildings before March 2026, with the long-term goal of putting the entire portfolio through the process. In the next round, most of the required information will already sit in Autility before Energihuset even begins its digital survey — making certification a natural, integrated part of daily operations.

Let’s reduce your rework tax.

Every return visit. Every hour sorting photos. Every report that takes three days instead of one. It adds up. Companies that try Autility see the difference.
